Our Mission
At City Cafe Outreach Program, our mission is simple yet powerful: to nourish Amarillo’s families with dignity, compassion, and hope. We fight food insecurity by preparing and delivering Family Meal Packs, providing After-School Snack Paks for children, and building programs that empower families with nutrition education and life skills.
Who We Are
Founded by Shaun Sechrist, City Cafe Outreach Program was born from a simple belief: no one in our community should go hungry. Leveraging the kitchen and heart of City Cafe, our outreach program brings together local resources, volunteers, and donors to make a direct and meaningful impact on families, seniors, and children in Amarillo who are facing food insecurity.
What We Do
Family Meal Packs: Fresh, ready-to-eat meals delivered weekly to families in need.
After-School Snack Paks: Nutritious snack packs ensuring children have food security beyond school hours.
Future Programs: Financial literacy workshops, healthy cooking classes, and a long-term vision for a Community Food Education Center with a garden.
Why It Matters
Food insecurity affects 1 in 6 families in our area. It’s not just about hunger—it’s about health, stability, and the dignity every person deserves. By providing consistent access to meals and resources, we are helping neighbors meet basic needs while laying the groundwork for long-term community resilience.
Our Vision
We envision a future where every family in Amarillo has access to nutritious meals, education, and the tools to thrive. Together with our supporters, we are building not just a meal program, but a movement of compassion and empowerment.
